Miller County Middle-High School Pirate Pride Band Receives Superior Rating


Pirate Pride Band Pirate Pride Band The Miller County Middle High School Pirate Pride Concert Band, directed by Holly Thomas, participated in the Georgia Bandmasters Association Concert Band Festival on March 2 at the Kirbo Center on the ABAC (Bainbridge) campus.

This festival is an opportunity for middle and high school bands to be evaluated by knowledgeable and experienced judges. The judges’ comments and suggestions critique the bands’ tone, blend, technique, interpretation, and intonation.

Bands may receive a rating of Superior, Excellent, Good, Fair, or Poor.

The Miller County band played the following selections: “Mighty Mite March,” “Annabel Lee,” and “Kentucky 1800.”

The band received some excellent, constructive criticism and suggestions for improvement. All three judges awarded a score of Superior to the Miller County Band. Mrs. Thomas and the students were ecstatic to learn how well their performance was received. Miller County Schools are proud of our band and invite you to their Spring Concert on May 8.
