Virginia Phillips, age 98, died December 30, 2017, at Phenix City Health Care, Phenix City, Alabama.

A private funeral service was held Tuesday, January 2, 2018, at 2:00 p.m. at Sheffield Funeral Chapel.

Virginia was born October 8, 1919, in Seminole County. She lived most of her life in Colquitt, and retired as clerk for the Miller County Commissioners. She was a member of First Church of God in Bainbridge.

Survivors include one son, Robert (Debra) Phillips, Amelia Island, Florida; one daughter, Faye (Rick) Teel, Smiths Station, Alabama; one granddaughter, Lindsey (Arturo Donate) Phillips, Fairfax, Virginia; one grandson, Tommy Teel, Smiths Station, Alabama; and one great-granddaughter, Eliana Donate-Phillips, Fairfax, Virginia.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Ben Hill Phillips, and by her brother, Arthur Leon (Tip) Tipton.

Colquitt Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
