Johnson and Tabb Selected Pre-Season All-State Players

Miller County Pirate baseball players Dylan Johnson and Kohler Tabb have been chosen Pre-Season First Team All-State by the GACA. Both players will be recognized in the Georgia Dugout magazine pre-season edition.

Kohler Tabb, the son of Kevin and Charity Tabb, will be a senior on the Pirate baseball team this season. Kohler, who was Second Team All-State and First Team All-Region this past season, had a great junior season for the Pirates. The year 2017 saw Kohler lead the team in all hitting categories. Kohler batted .496, with 27RBI’s and 34 hits on the season. Kohler also helped the Pirates on the mound, where he posted a 4.50 ERA while striking out 25 in 18 innings.

Dylan Johnson, the son of Jamie and Tabitha Johnson, will be a junior on the Pirate baseball team this season. Dylan, who was First Team All-Region last season, ended the season as the Pirates’ work horse on the mound. In 2017, Dylan batted .302 and was second on the team with 20 RBIs. Dylan had a really solid season on the mound, pitching a team high 31 innings, striking out 43, and sporting a 2.59 ERA. Dylan tied for the team lead in wins with 4.

Both of these young men are very deserving of the honor being given to them. Please congratulate these two young men as you see them around Colquitt. The Pirates open their season on February 6 at home with a scrimmage versus Marion County at 5:30 p.m. before starting the season the next week versus AA power Thomasville, so please come and support the Pirates baseball team this upcoming season.
