Senior Center has Fun Month

by Dorita McCracken

Members of the Senior Center enjoy Halloween. Members of the Senior Center enjoy Halloween. The Miller County Senior Center was full of fun and activities for the month of October. We had a pumpkin decorating contest, a scavenger hunt, and a costume contest.

The senior center group winning the pumpkin contest was entitled, “Six Gals and a Guy.” This group was made up of Sarah Johnson, Eloise George, Gertrude Roberts, Jeanette Tabb, Donna Cofty, Bill Godfrey, and Hope Heard. We want to thank the following judges: Deon Foster, Garrett Richardson, Candy Moore, Cindy Henry, Deborah Pearce, and Cindy Spears.

The clients of the senior center also participated in a Halloween Costume Contest. The winner was Mr. Henry Gibson. He was dressed as a pirate and was fully decked out as a true buccaneer. We enjoyed trick-or-treating at First State Bank of Colquitt. We attempted to scare the employees into handing over their loot, but all we got was peanuts! The bank staff was very generous with their goodies.

The members of the center also participated in a scavenger hunt. The center was full of laughter and fun as each member used a detailed list and reported back with the “findings” and had to seal the win by dancing to the twist.
