First Friday Breakfast Held

Kate Willis speaks

The Colquitt Miller County Chamber of Commerce hosted their October First Friday Breakfast on Friday, October 6th, 2017 at the Tarrer Inn. Chamber president KaCee Holt welcomed the attendees and thanked the sponsor of Three Notch Electric. She also shared a few announcements before asking chamber member Ben Clenney to ask the blessing on the food. The Tarrer Inn served up a traditional breakfast with grits, eggs, bacon, sausage, and biscuits.

After the breakfast, community announcements were made and then KaCee Holt introduced Kate Willis of the Colquitt Miller Arts Council for the program. Kate shared the social and economic impact of Swamp Gravy over the last 25 years and applauded the community for coming together so many years ago to make this happen. She shared the importance of our stories and how they impact those that hear them. She encouraged each and every one in attendance to share their story with others. She concluded by giving a small glimpse of a story that has been turned into a scene in this year’s Swamp Gravy: Listen Hear. KaCee then thanked Kate for her involvement in Swamp Gravy and what it has done for our community. She closed by announcing that Three Notch EMC would be having their annual meeting on October 14th and encouraged members to attend if possible. She thanked them for their sponsorship and the Tarrer Inn for a wonderful breakfast.
