After an extended illness, Julia Mae Bundy Sheffield, age 84, of Colquitt died on Monday, September 4, 2017, at the Willson Hospice House in Albany.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, September 9, 2017, at 4 p.m. at Colquitt Funeral Home in Colquitt, Georgia, with interment following at the Colquitt City Cemetery.

Julia was born on August 12, 1933, to Emmitt Bundy and Julia Cobb Bundy of Calhoun County. She was a graduate of Damascus High School in Damascus. On June 28, 1957, she married James Edward Sheffield. Julia was a long time member of the First Baptist Church of Colquitt and worked many years as a counselor with the Miller County Mental Health Office. After her retirement in 1996, Julia and Edward enjoyed traveling in the western United States and New England. Julia was very involved with her family and enjoyed reunions and travel with her son and his family to places such as the Pacific Northwest, Utah, and the North Georgia Mountains. Additionally, in retirement Julia worked at the Miller County Library and was a volunteer with the Swamp Gravy play.

She is survived by her son, Jim Sheffield, daughter-in-law, Melody Clay Sheffield, and one grandson, Clay Sheffield.

Colquitt Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
