Angie Carr Releases Double CD Project - Where I Am Now


Donalsonville native and recording artist Angie Carr Donalsonville native and recording artist Angie Carr Angie Carr, director of Music Ministries at Tifton First United Methodist Church and hometown native of Donalsonville, has released a double CD project. “ Where I Am Now” is the title of the CD, and it has a mixture of music genres such as traditional, country, bluegrass, and contemporary Christian music.

The vision for the project began in 2015, and was just completed in July of this year. Recorded at Upper Room Studios, Greg Hobbs (sound engineer), this is Angie’s fifth CD recording.

More of the vision for this project included putting together songs from her past and present, including friends who have influenced her musically, and including choirs from churches where she has worked in years past.

Angie, along with friends Mike Delk and Jeff Parson, wrote the title song, “Where I Am Now.” It was arranged by Gary DiBenedetto and is now available on Itunes, and playing on YRadio.org, of Metro Atlanta, which is broadcast in 30 locations and in other countries.

Friends singing and/or playing on the CD project are Genine Tucker of Macon, Tony and Joy Buczek of Donalsonville, Mike Delk and Jessica Wade of Tifton. Angie also recorded some of her own background vocals on many songs.

The Worship Concert Tour has begun, where Angie will share many songs from her CD, and in some places, will perform with friends and choirs. Recently she performed and shared about her CD on WSST TV Cordele. Her Worship Concert Tour is as follows:

Tifton First United Methodist Church, Tifton, Ga. - October 1 – 6:00 p.m.

Friendship United Methodist Church, Donalsonville - November 5 – 6:00 p.m.

She will also be sharing her music at various events in Tifton, and at Camp Meeting services in South Georgia areas. Angie will have a CD Release Party, Friday, September 22, at Jill’s Bistro, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Stop by for some great food and great music! And don’t miss the Worship Concert, November 5, 6:00 p.m., at Friend- ship United Methodist Church.

Angie has been singing in church since the age of eight, and quickly had a love for sharing the Lord’s music. She was taught by some of the best directors through high school and church, such as Joanne P. Drake and Gene Houston. While attending Chipola Jr. College and Lee University, she travelled with the premiere music groups to numerous states and other countries. She graduated with a degree in Music Education with voice as her major.

Early on she knew God was calling her into church music ministry, and she has worked in the United Methodist Church denomination for 26 years. She has worked in Hawkinsville, Cordele, and now Tifton.

She has been employed at the Tifton First United Methodist Church for 11 years, and has a music ministry program of 15 music groups she leads and /or is in charge of. The various groups include graded children’s choirs, children’s chime and bell groups, adult ensembles, hand bells, choirs, orchestra, bluegrass band, contemporary band and youth music groups. She leads worship for three services on Sundays and loves the ministry of music God has called her to.

Angie is the daughter of Ouida Carr and the late Hugh E. Carr, long-time residents of Donalsonville. Although Angie hasn’t lived in Donalsonville since high school, she makes sure everywhere she goes, folks know where she is from! She loves her hometown and appreciates the love and support from her family, church family, and friends.
