Reading Logs Due

The Summer Reading Program at the library is winding down, so don’t forget to turn your reading logs into the Miller County – James W. Merritt, Jr. Memorial Library by July 14th to receive a prize and be entered into the grand prize drawing. The top 10 readers’ names will be listed in the newspaper. Children who complete their logs are invited to take a photograph for the newspaper and attend the final prize drawing on July 20 at 3:30 p.m., and the grand prize is an Amazon Kindle Fire.

Summer Trip Opportunities

Are you planning a trip this summer? If you are visiting Atlanta, the library offers free passes to Zoo Atlanta, the Center for Puppetry Arts, and the Michael C. Carlos Museum. To receive the free pass to Zoo Atlanta, you must check out a Zoo Atlanta DVD from the library, watch it, and return the DVD to the library within two weeks of your trip. If you are looking for a natural getaway, you can borrow Georgia State Park Passes and Historic Site passes with a valid library card.
