In conjunction with the PeoplesSouth Bank event, “ Gather at the Pole,” the Colquitt Miller County Chamber of Commerce hosted their monthly chamber breakfast. The breakfast was held at PeoplesSouth Bank Community Center on Monday, July 3, 2017, and was sponsored by PeoplesSouth Bank.

The event started with guests gathering around the flag pole located on Highway 27. Branch president Alton Harrison welcomed everyone and shared a small history of the Fourth of July Celebration. He then introduced Bobby Tiner of the Miller County Veterans for the program. Tiner shared stories of their chapter and how important the Fourth of July is in our country and how we need to honor that tradition. He recognized the Miller County Veterans in attendance and their new commander, Wayne Womble. He then led the guests in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance to the American Flag. Next Mr. Roger Lane closed the service in prayer and blessed the breakfast that was to be served.
