Roaming the Halls at MCHS

by: Autumn Cason

This past Friday was our last regular-season football game of this school year. I have to say that I am very proud of the football team, the cheerleaders, and the marching band. They have made this football season a great one, and they made sure to go out with a bang. The game against Seminole County was one I hope you did not miss. Our Pirates played as hard last Friday as they did at their first game, and the scoreboard did not disappoint the Miller County crowd. Everyone did a fantastic job, and now we are headed to playoffs, which will begin with a home game this Friday night.

Also on Friday was the MCHS Beta Club’s yearly induction. There were many new members inducted this year. The new members were recognized for their outstanding academic achievement, and they were introduced to some of the purposes and ideas behind the Beta Club. After they all received their membership certificates, they said the Beta Club Pledge together. Then, both new and returning members, along with their parents, were served a delicious breakfast to celebrate the occasion.

I would like to congratulate all of the newly inducted members-- being inducted into the Beta Club is definitely something to be proud of.

Beta is not the only club staying busy at MCHS. Next Wednesday and Thursday three of the Miller County FBLA officers will be taking a short trip to Athens, Georgia, for a Leadership Conference. While there, they will learn various leadership responsibilities and skills, and will also have the chance to engage in educational programs with other FBLA chapters from across the state. Everyone planning to attend is excited to be given this opportunity.
