‘Planting for the Future’

As part of a community service project, the Miller County Retired Educators Association is sponsoring the MCREA Tree Project “Planting for the Future” landscaping campaign. This campaign’s purpose is to raise funds to purchase and maintain trees to beautify the landscape of our schools. A Community Tree Committee has been formed to plan and try to achieve the goals of this project while at the same time bringing new life to the Miller County Schools.

The MCREA Tree Project will only be a success if the community joins the MCREA and Community Tree Committee in an effort to reach their goal of beautifying the landscape of our schools. The public is encouraged to take part by purchasing a tree. Trees may be purchased in memory or honor of someone or some group. Purchases may be for businesses, classes, groups, couples, individuals, etc. There are three donor levels available. Curb Appeal ($100) are trees growing along curbs or driveways, Shade Appeal ($150) are fast growing shade trees, or the Legacy Appeal ($250) are 30 gallon trees placed in prominent places on the school grounds. A dedication plaque will be placed in front of the tree you purchase with an inscription of your choice. A dedication service will be held in spring, 2017.

If you would like to help by purchasing a tree or giving a donation, please fill out the form printed in the Liberal, and mail along with payment to MCREA Tree Project, P.O. Box 123, Colquitt, GA 39837.

Make checks payable to MCREA Tree Project. Please remember your donation or purchase is tax deductible, and tree order deadline is December 12.

If you have any questions or would like to volunteer to help with this project, please call 229-220-1160 or 229- 758-3403.
