Two Miller County deputies were dispatched to the scene, and Miller County Sheriff Deputies Brent Haire and Garison Clenny radioed back to the dispatcher that they had picked up the driver walking down the road and were heading back to the wreck scene. Georgia State Patrol Troop Commander, Sgt. Tracy Tabb, was the investigating officer from Troop 14, Colquitt.

Mr. Williams was arrested, and charged with DUI and suspended licenses. The auto was removed by Hall Wrecker Service due to excessive damage. The owner of the vehicle was Ms. Casey Pruitt, who had recently moved to Colquitt.
