50th wedding anniversary celebrated


Ken and Patsy Waddell celebrate 50 years of marriage. Ken and Patsy Waddell celebrate 50 years of marriage. On Saturday, April 12, 2014, Ken and Patsy Waddell of Valdosta celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a reception.

The gala affair was held at Park Avenue United Methodist Church in Valdosta, where they attend.

Patsy Sanders and Ken Waddell were united in marriage at the Colquitt Methodist Church by the Reverend W. Hamp Watson on April 12, 1964. Patsy is the daughter of the late Talmadge and Ida Ruth Sanders.

From this union, two children were born, a son, Scott Sanders Waddell and a daughter, Stephanie Leigh Waddell, which are both deceased.

Ken and Patsy are both retired. Ken retired from Farm Credit Services and from the Citizens National Bank of Quitman. Patsy is retired from Park Avenue United Methodist Church where she was an administrative assistant for the director of music ministry. They both are now active volunteers at the church.

Many friends and relatives attended the reception to help the couple celebrate this milestone in their lives.
