The Middle Tennessee State sophomore linebacker, TT Barber, made his first bowl debut count on Monday, December 30, 2013.

The Armed Forces Bowl was played in Fort Worth, TX, against the United States Naval Academy.

Barber had seven tackles, including one for loss, forced one fumble and recovered two fumbles in a 24-6 loss to Navy. He was named Most Valuable Player for Middle Tennessee after Monday’s bowl game.

Barber finished 2013 with 119 tackles, the most for an MTSU defender since Roosevelt Colvard had 120 in 1986. Barber’s total is eighth all-time on the single-season list.

However, TT was not the only Miller County graduate on the field in the game. Ashley Ingram, son of Coach Alan Ingram is the offensive line coach for the United States Naval Academy and also is a graduate of Miller County High.
