Mr. Winson Broxton, age 88, of Donalsonville passed away Thursday, February 14, 2013 at the Donalsonville Hospital.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, February 16 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home with Rev. Bryon Griffs officiating. Interment followed at Friendship Memorial Gardens in Donalsonville.

He was born in Marianna, FL on June 24, 1924 to the late Robert Frank and Nettie Bell Herring Broxton. He served his country in the US Army, was a member of South Mt. Zion Church of God and a farmer.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Jessie Mae McLendon Broxton of Donalsonville; two daughters, Helen Phillips and her husband Dan of Columbus, Martha Smith and her husband Inge of Fortson; two sisters, Winona Easom of Donalsonville and Wilma Houston of Lakeland, FL; three grandchildren, Laura Armour and her husband Kirk of Newnan, Zach Smith and Ben Smith of Columbus; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Frank and Nettie Bell Herring Broxton; and four brothers, Lonnie Broxton, Rollie Broxton, Collie Broxton and Herman Broxton.

Evans-Skipper Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
