Nursing Home News

by Suzanne Griffin

Residents have stayed very busy over the past few weeks. We have enjoyed many of our regular activities along with some extra special ones.

Monday residents enjoyed Bible study in the morning. During the afternoon we spent time learning about each other while playing penny ante. We enjoyed having Mt. Zion Fellowship with us Monday night.

Tuesday morning we had a little friendly competition while playing bingo. We enjoyed a relaxed afternoon having spa day.

Wednesday morning members from Colquitt First Baptist came to have our church service. Our monthly birthday party was hosted by members of Mother’s Home Free Will Baptist Church. Residents enjoyed home made pound cake, ice cream, cheese puffs and punch. There are four residents celebrating a birthday this month. Those celebrating a birthday also received a special gift.

Residents had a special treat Thursday night as the Guitar Men came to sing for them.

James Judkins gave some very encouraging words on Friday morning. The competition continued on Friday afternoon as we had afternoon bingo.

Members from Oak Grove were here on Saturday to share with our residents as well as Flat Creek Baptist on Sunday.

Thank you to everyone who took part in the activities this past week. We look forward to the upcoming events and hope that you will make it a point to come and visit.
