GBI agents have no leads in Baker County murder

by MCL staff writer

William Antoine Flake William Antoine Flake GBI agents say they still have no good leads in the case concerning the murder of a man found dead in his car more than a month ago in Baker County.

A truck driver noticed a car in a ditch just a few yards off Milford Church Road near State Highway 37 on July 28. The body of 32-year-old William Antoine Flake was found inside the Mercury Grand Marquis, with the victim dead from a gunshot wound.

Flake was from Calhoun County. He had been released from prison in January stemming from a drug transaction conviction.

Investigators were hoping for tips from people who saw Flake before he died.

The investigation is being treated as a murder case after the autopsy showed that the victim died from a shot in the head with a single shotgun wound.

The reports did not show that a weapon was found at the scene of the crime.
