Cancer Coalition welcomes three new board members

ALBANY, GA - The Southwest Georgia Cancer Coalition announces the addition of three new members to its Board of Directors. A regional non-profit leader in promoting cancer education, prevention, screening, treatment and research, the Coalition serves 31 counties in south Georgia.

Newest members are Javier Gonzalez, director of Hispanic Student Support Programs at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College ( ABAC); Robin Rau, CEO of Miller County Hospital and administrator of SWGA Healthcare Partnership; and John “ Wink” Strickland, retired chairman of the Clinch County Board of Commissioners and former member of the Homerville City Council.

“ This is an exciting time for the Cancer Coalition as we move into our 10th year of providing access to community cancer services in south Georgia,” said Board Chairman Glenda Battle, retired Decatur County Commissioner. “ We look forward to tapping into the expertise these talented new board members bring to the organization.”

The Southwest Georgia Cancer Coalition is a regional 501c(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to ensure that south Georgians have access to the highest quality cancer education, prevention, screening, treatment and research.
