MCHS FFA NEWS

by Rachel Grimsley Reporter

It’s the start of a new school year and time for more exciting FFA news. We recently elected our 2011-2012 FFA officers at a meeting on August 1 at the home of advisor Bill Spooner. They are President: Colt Calhoun, Vice President: Adam Phillips, Treasurer: Eric Whatley, Secretary: Anna Jones, Chaplain: Garrison Clenney, Sentinel: William Henry, Historian: Robert Eldrigde and I, Rachel Grimsley, am the Reporter. I will be giving you the updates every week on anything and everything FFA newsworthy!

As the new officers, our first duty will be to prepare for the first meeting which will be held at 7:30 p.m. on August 23 at the Miller County High School Cafeteria. Dinner will be served, along with fun games and activities. We would love for all high school FAA members to be a part of the first meeting. In other news, we are taking on a new task this school year by ordering chickens! Not only will this be an interesting challenge, but the students ordering chickens will be faced with many new responsibilities. Starting next week we will begin planting ferns, and I know many of you are ready to purchase those this year! I’m looking forward to a great school year and also a great FFA year!
