When Uncle Bud Carter comes to a sale, there are some great treasures there. Don't let him get them all. When Uncle Bud Carter comes to a sale, there are some great treasures there. Don't let him get them all. Looking for a great buy? Colquitt is the place to be.

If you want some beads, barbecue sauce, bird houses, blueberry bushes or most anything else, come to the courthouse square Saturday.

The Fourth Second Saturday Market is expected to be bigger and better than ever.

With more than sixty vendors and merchants on the square expected to participate, the next Second Saturday Market Days event on June 11 promises to be the best yet.

Organizers do not expect the heat to be a problem since the mornings are cool, and the vendor booths and stores will be open to the public at 8:00 AM. Even on the hottest days, the thermometer doesn't generally hit the 90 degree mark until around noon.

If you get a little warm, the Colquitt merchants have their stores full of bargains while you cool off.

In addition to the many returning vendors, event organizers are also hoping to begin a farmer's market with produce available. Space rental for new vendors is only $20 for the day, including all fees, permits, and city fees.

"Second Saturday on the Square Market Days" is quickly growing to be a regional event, with vendors and attendees already from Georgia, Alabama, and Florida.

This is the event where individuals or local groups can sell household goods, homemade items, or unwanted house wares, and where thrifty individuals or groups can find great bargains. For more information or to reserve a vendor space, go to www.secondsaturdayonthesquare.com.
