Bishop still catching heat for scholarships

For weeks now, Congressman Sanford Bishop (D) has been accused of nepotism and cronyism as more charges of scholarships that were to go to needy and deserving students, actually went to Bishop’s family and close friends.

Congressman Bishop stated that he had done nothing wrong providing his stepdaughter and niece the scholarships, but has repaid the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation $6,350 to cover costs involving family scholarships.

Bishop’s re-election campaign blamed the uncovering on Republican Mike Keown, the challenger for the U.S. Representative seat for the district to be voted on November 2.

CNN anchor, Anderson Cooper, says there is much more to this and says, “... the more we scratch away at this, the more the whole thing stinks.”
