INCIDENT REPORTS
Dog Case
On August 25, 2010 Officer Scott Lawson was dispatched to North Cuthbert Street to the residence of Jennifer Grant. Ms. Grant stated that she was on her porch when two black pit bulldogs came in her yard and killed her cat. Animal control was called to put out traps to catch the animals.
Larceny from Vehicle
On August 29, 2010, Officer Scott Cleveland was dispatched to North MLK Jr. Street in reference to a theft. Upon arrival, Ricky Andrews stated that his wallet had been taken out of his car’s passenger seat. Investigator Morgan was notified of the situation.
Public Drunk
On August 28, 2010 Officer Scott Cleveland was dispatched to N. Cuthbert St. in reference to an alarm. Upon arrival, Mr. Eddie Fisher was still on scene at the back door of the trailer belonging to Mrs. Wynette Weaver. Mr. Fisher was found to be highly intoxicated with blood shot eyes. The homeowner, Ms. Weaver stated the alarm went off when Fisher tried to enter the back door and said he probably didn’t even know where he was. Mr. Fisher was given a intox test which resulted in his arrest. He was transported to the jail where he was booked and received a citation for public drunk.
Driving Under
Influence
On August 29, 2010, Officer Scott Cleveland was on patrol when he noticed a 2006 Dodge Stratus with loud music coming from the vehicle. Officer Cleveland initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle. The officer then approached the driver, Keauntra D. Anderson of a Newton address. After checking, his tag was suspended, and he had no insurance. While speaking with the subject, Officer Cleveland could smell a strong odor of alcohol. He was asked to give a sample of his breath in the portable intox to check to see if he was legal. Mr. Anderson was transported to the jail where he was booked on DUI charges, suspended tag, no insurance, and loud music.

On August 26, 2010, Alisha Lynn Colwell stated that Lynn Cox came by her house on East Breamon Street and stopped in the street and made threats against her. Officer Scott Lawson was the reporting officer.
Burglary -
No Forced Entry
On August 26, 2010, Jimmy James Allen of Phillips Street stated that he left his house on Phillips Street to go unlock a lady’s house. He was gone approximately 30 minutes, and when he returned home, someone had gone into his house and stolen his 60” television set valued at $1,169.61. The incident was turned over to the investigation department.
Deceased Subject
On August 24, 2010, officers were dispatched to 603 N. Martin Luther King St. where the deceased subject, Melisia Williams King, was found to have no pulse and was not breathing. She was in the bathroom of her apartment. EMS arrived shortly after Officer Scott Cleveland and checked Ms. King. Investigator Morgan was notified of the deceased subject and arrived on the scene and secured the scene. While securing the scene, Officer Cleveland spoke with a Ms. Patterson who stated that Ms. King’s mother had been trying to reach her by phone and couldn’t get her. The mother then opened the complex to check on her, and at this time EMS was called. Ms. King’s body was taken into custody by the coroner and transported to the crime lab for autopsy. No report has been made on cause of death.
