INCIDENT REPORTS

Public Peace

On August 15, 2010, Officer Charles Griffin was dispatched to the Fun House on Martin Luther King St. in reference to a disturbance. Upon arrival the officer spoke with the complainant Devario Shuler. Shuler advised the officer that his ex-girlfriend, Miranda Butler, threw his cell phone into a puddle of water. The officer then spoke with Ms. Butler, and she did advise him that she threw the cell phone in the water in retaliation for Shuler stealing a memory card out of her phone. Mr. Shuler stated that he just wanted the money for his phone, and Butler wanted the money for her memory card. Both subjects were advised that they would have to take warrants on their own if they wished to press criminal charges.

Public Drunk

On August 17, 2010, Officer Daniel Stone and Officer Griffin were dispatched to Lot #5 Grow Trailer Park in reference to a disturbance. Upon Officer Stone’s arrival Tammy Sue Jones of Colquitt was intoxicated, and her shirt was torn.

Jones was placed under arrest after being uncooperative with the officers. She was then taken to the jail where she was booked, and paper work was completed.

Damage to Property Free Text

On August 17, 2010, Officer Lawson Scott was called on patrol at 603 Martin Luther King Street, Apt. 9C. The complainant, Shatoya Crankfield told the officer that when she was walking out to her car she noticed some scratch marks on the car. She also stated that the scratches probably came from some girls in the area that she was having some problems with.

Tree Limb Damage

On August 17, 2010, Officer Dan Stone responded to a tree limb falling on a car at 119 Phillips St. Christy Lane Chaney, the owner of the car, stated that a tree limb fell and damaged her 2009 Kia Spectra. Damage was to the roof of the vehicle and the front windshield. Photos were taken by Officer Stone.

Disorderly Conduct

On August 18, 2010, Officer Chris Medina was dispatched to 228 Grow St. Lot 24 at Grow Trailer Park in reference to a disturbance. When Officer Medina arrived on scene, he observed a commotion occurring around Lot 24. He then got out of his patrol car and saw the suspect, Timothy Justin Watts, attempting to fight with victim, Stephanie Paige Edwards. Mr. Watts appeared to be under the influence of alcohol as he was walking over the Lot Number 26. While checking Mr. Watts for weapons, officer Medina found two bottles of whiskey in his right cargo pocket of his shorts. At this time Mr. Watts was placed in the patrol car. The victim, Stephanie Edwards, advised officer Medina that Mr. Watts went over to Lot 23 of the trailer park and threw two small kittens against the mobile home. At that time Mr. Watts became irate and started trying to fight with Ms. Edwards as she confronted him about throwing the kittens. When Michael Harris, who lived at Lot 23, heard the commotion, he got in between the two attempting to keep them from fighting. It was at that time Mr. Watts spit on Ms. Edwards and Mr. Harris. Watts was arrestd for disorderly conduct and public drunkenness and taken to the Miller County Jail. Mr. Watts was also charged with cruelty to animals.

On August 20, 2010, Officer Lawson responded to a call at Road Runner Seafood. The complainant, Stoval James, stated that he left his boat at the Road Runner Seafood overnight and when he got ready to check the motor, he noticed two bottles missing from the motor mount area. The motor was an 200 Mercury EFI, and the boat was a Sylan.

Vehicle Accident

On August 16, 2010, Emma Richardson, driving a 2002 Ford Explorer, was turning into the parking lot of the Miller County High School gym area. Ms. Richardson stated that she was talking to her daughter while she was turning into the parking lot and did not make the turn hitting Melanie Williams’ 1997 Ford Expedition, causing damage to the left rear fender area. Damage to the Explorer was to the right front fender area of her vehicle.

On August 18, 2010, Melanie Lynn Morales was traveling east on College Street in a 1993 Ford pickup. David Lon Lovering, driving a 2007 Ford F-150 was traveling north on First Street. Morales went through the stop sign at First Street and College Street without yielding right-of-way to Lovering’s vehicle causing Lovering to hit Morales. Morales was found at fault for the accident for failure to yield rightof way.

On August 16, 2010, Kory Toliver, driving a 2001 Jeep Cherokee, was backing from its parking lot in front of Food Mart. Vickie Jean Donnell, driving a 2007 Honda Accord, was parked behind Toliver’s vehicle. Donnell was not in a parking spot and unoccupied. Toliver backed into Donnell’s vehicle. Toliver was found to be at fault for improper backing.
