That is the plot summary for a new book, Lilly and Twinkle Eyes, by author Jimmy Whitaker, who was born and reared in Colquitt.

“After leaving the Marine Corps in 1968, I married my wife, and we had four beautiful children,” Whitaker said. “I've always worked in construction and maintenance. Years later, I became a minister and pastor for 20 years. I am retired now and loving it.” His family now lives in Bainbridge, and he pastors a church in Colquitt.
