INCIDENT REPORTS

Fraudulent Activity

On August 3, 2010, Officer Scott Lawson was called to the Miller County Health Clinic on North Cuthbert Street. Cindy Caldwell stated to the officer she had received a fax from Rite Aid which was a prescription she had written earlier on this date to Jamika Nicole Shepard. The prescription had a drug on it that Ms. Caldwell did not put on it. She stated the drug that had been put on the prescription was Lorcet Plus and that she did not even prescribe this drug. After talking with Ms. Caldwell, an Investigator Kirkland was called, and the incident was turned over to him.

Disturbance

On August 3, 2010, Captain Dan Stone and Officer Griffin were sent to the area of Babcock St. and the Villa Apartments in reference to a black female that had been lying in the road bleeding. Upon arrival, the officers searched for the woman (Ms. Reeves) and found her behind a trailer on Babcock St. with her children. The woman was bleeding with what appeared to be “road rash.” Ms. Reeves told the officers that she had jumped out of a moving truck being driven by Fred Hightower to avoid a fight. Both parties stated they did not hit each other, and the only injuries were from her jumping out of the truck. She was taken to the emergency room by EMS and released.

Driving Under

Influence

On August 5, 2010, Officer Scott Cleveland was on patrol when he noticed a white male subject pass him in a 1997 Chevy S10. When the subject passed the officer, he noticed that the subject was drinking an alcoholic beverage. At this time, Officer Cleveland initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle. The driver, Christian Eljah Foster of a Colquitt address, was asked to show his license which he produced. While speaking with the subject, the officer could smell a strong odor of alcohol on the subject. Mr. Foster’s speech was slurred, and he had blood shot eyes which led the officer to believe that he was under the influence. At the time, Officer Cleveland asked the subject if he had been drinking and were there any open containers in the vehicle. The subject stated that he had been drinking. He was asked to give a sample of his breath on the portable intox. He was placed under arrest for DUI and open container.

Damage to Vehicle

On August 5, 2010, Officer Scott Cleveland spoke with Bebe Thomas, who stated that she was traveling on 91 North behind a semi. While behind the semi, a large piece of tin came out from under the wheel of the truck flying back and striking the front bumper of her vehicle causing slight damage in the form of scratches. The piece of tin was not from the semi and was trash on the roadway. No injuries occurred.
