School bells to ring Friday
After what seems like a short summer vacation, Miller County school bells will ring once again as the 2010-2011 school year begins Friday, August 13, 2010.
We hope that everyone, parents, students, teachers, and administrators, have had a wonderful summer and are ready to begin a new and exciting school year.
“I am looking forward to another great year at Miller County. With the support of our excellent faculty, staff, students, parents, and community, I know we will all have a most memorable year,” stated Principal Robert McIntosh.
The back-to-school edition was printed last week, giving parents and students information needed for the beginning of the new year. A list of supplies for each grade was also included in that edition, along with dress codes for each school, attendance policies, and staff at each of the three schools.
According to the 2010- 2011 school calendar, teachers reported to their schools on Wednesday, August 11.
Open house at the school has been set for Thursday, August 12, from 2:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.
On Friday, regular school hours begin: Elementary School, 7:55 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.; Middle School, 8:05 a.m. - 3:08 p.m.; and High School, 8:10 a.m. - 3:12 p.m.
Traffic, as usual, will be heavy on the first day of school. School administrators and law enforcement officials urge everyone to drive slowly and be patient. Have a safe, great year in the best time of your life.
