Charles Grant goes from Saints to Dolphins. Charles Grant goes from Saints to Dolphins. According to multiple reports such as CBS Sports. com, NFL.com and Charles Grant's mother, Teressa Warren, the former football star of Miller County High School, University of Georgia Bulldogs and the 2010 Super Bowl winners, New Orlean Saints, has reportedly signed a two year deal with the Miami Dolphins that could be worth up to $4.5 million. The signing was first reported by NFL.com.

Grant's new contract is a massive step down from his previous deal with the Super Bowl champion Saints, who put Grant on injured reserve (IR) at the start of the NFL playoffs with a torn tricep, then released him after the season was over.

After starring for the Bulldogs, Grant was the 25th pick in the first round in 2002 and recorded 10 sacks or more during his first two seasons, starting all 32 games. Grant was released by the Saints in March, and he made it clear he wanted to play for three teams: The Atlanta Falcons, Carolina Panthers, and Tennessee Titans.

Just in case an NFL team didn't pick him up, Grant's UFL rights were claimed by the Omaha Nighthawks, although he opted not to sign as he awaited an NFL deal.

The defensive end, Grant, 31, entering his ninth season spent his entire NFL career with the Saints before the Dolphins came calling.
