Lucius "Luke" Johnson

Lucius “Luke” Johnson, 78, of Donalsonville passed away Friday, June 18, 2010, at Southeast Alabama Medical Center in Dothan, AL.

Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 22, at Spring Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Jimmy Dean officiating. Interment followed at Spring Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mr. Johnson was born June 6, 1932, in Seminole County, the son of Joseph Carl Johnson and Jettie Lue Johnson. He was a contractor for many years, a well known farmer and affectionately known as “Luscious Luke” to many. He was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include his daughters, Sheilah J. Kirkland, Debra J. Bennett, Bainbridge, Martha Anne (Steve) King, Bainbridge, Eve (Sebe) Yarbrough Americus; twin brother, Lowell Johnson, Lake Seminole, brother, Joe (Jean) Johnson of California City, CA; sisters, Sissy (Bill) O’Hearn, Donalsonville, Pearl Schnick, Arlington, TX; his grandchildren, Will Kirkland, Ben Bennett, Jamie Bennett, Kennie Bennett, Jeb King, Sallie King, Jayden Yarbrough and Marlee Yarbrough; seven great-grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews; and step-grandson, Brandon Franklin.

Ivey Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
