Kathy Bailey and Michael Chesnut Priscilla Bailey and Mr. and Mrs. H.D. Bailey of Bainbridge announce the engagement of their daughter, Kathy Bailey of Bainbridge, to Michael Charles Chesnut of Colquitt, son of Jan and Mike Calhoun of Colquitt and Charles and Shirley Chesnut of Rock Hill, South Carolina.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Fred Barber and Ruth McDowell Barber of Bainbridge and the late Edwin Atkinson and Jewel Franklin Atkinson of Colquitt.

She is a graduate of Bainbridge High School and is currently enrolled at Bainbridge College. She is employed with the Decatur County Board of Education.

The groom-elect is the grandson of Elder W.H. and Doris Griffin Phillips of Bainbridge and the late Joy Harper Phillips and the late J.W. Chesnut and Mildred Chesnut Hudson of Donalsonville.

He is a graduate of Miller County High School and Bainbridge College. He is currently employed with Grady EMC.

The private ceremony is planned for August 12, 2010, at 7:30 in the evening at the Ritz Carlton in Sarasota, FL.
