Class of 1955 celebrates 55 years

A time of fun and fellowship was held from 6 p.m. until 7 p.m. before dinner was ready.

Gerald Thompson welcomed everyone, and Bill Moody blessed the food. Inell Williams gave the treasurer’s report. Members voted to have another reunion in two years.

Each member was asked to stand and tell something that had happened in the last three years of their lives and introduce themselves and guests.

Billy Daniels was the speaker for the evening and told funny jokes and stories.

Members present were Ray Albritton and Kathyrn, Carolyn Grimsley Amundson and Ray, Barbara Jones Blankenship, Pat Taylor Bush and Spud, Perry Cross and Betty Ann, Billy Daniels and Joy, Betty Jean Mock Everson, Lounette Cowart Hall, Thelma Nix Hamond, Elaine Bevis Henderson and Kenneth, Edward Kimbrel and Shirley, Marlin Kimbrel and Georgia, Bobbie Kirksey Meyer von Bremen and Fred Schmitt, Betty Sloan Miller, Bill Moody and Monteen, Joy Grimsley Newton, Bobbie Jean Frazer Patterson, Clara Nell Crawford Phillips, Bobby Richardson and Beverly, Owen Tabb, Gerald Thompson, Jimmy Tully, Jerome Wells and Teresa, Lois Phillips Wilbourn and Al, Inell Whitaker Williams, Wynell Sheffield Williams, and Douglas Richardson.

A special guest at the reunion was Verlie Mae Hilburn, wife of the late Hamilto Hilburn.

Thelma Hammond won the prize for traveling the longest distance.

The next reunion will be May 2012.
