MONCILE WILLIAMS MCLEN DON

Mrs. Moncile Williams McLendon, age 86, of Colquitt passed away Friday, June 11, 2010, at Early County Nursing Home in Blakely.

Funeral services were held on Sunday, June 13, at 4:00 p.m, at the Chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home. Interment followed in Friendship Memorial Gardens in Donalsonville with Rev. Sterling Jones and Rev. James Scarborough officiating.

Pallbearers were Chuck Hardage, Todd Hardage, Scott Kirkland, Eric Enfinger, Chase Hardage and Charlton Hardage.

Mrs. McLendon was born in Colquitt on February 15, 1924, to the late John Ben and Agnes Johnson Williams. She was a member of South Mt. Zion Church of God and had worked as a seamstress at Donny Mills. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Leon McLendon.

Survivors include two daughters, Gloria (Charles) Hardage, Buena Vista, and Bobbie (Kenneth) Tew, Donalsonville; two sisters, Ramona (Tuggie) Stegall and Betty (Perry) Cross, both of Colquitt; and her grandchildren, Chuck (Vicki) Hardage, Todd (Teresa) Hardage, Scott (Wendy) Kirkland, Shanna (Eric); and 10 great-grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews and special neighbors, Janice and Quinn Smith.

She was preceded in death by parents, John Ben and Agnes Johnson Williams; her husband, Leon McLendon; four grandchildren; and son-in-law Roger Norman.

Evans-Skipper Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
