New movie may be shot in Colquitt
How would you like to be in a feature film with local actor/ model, Christy Bella Joiner?
Joiner has been chosen to star in an upcoming film titled The House. The film is scheduled for a Fall 2010 production date. Writer/director John W. Bosley plans to possibly shoot several scenes of the film in the state of Georgia. In a recent telephone interview with Bosley, he indicated that some of the scenes could be shot in Colquitt. He was updated on a sound studio and people who had worked in a recent movie shot in this area.
Joiner and Bosley started conversations in April 2010. After reading the script and auditioning, Joiner was cast in the lead role of Anne Peterson, the murder suspect's wife.
"This is one of the best scripts I've read in years," Joiner stated. "I am so enthused and excited about this film, and I know it will be a huge success!"
The House is the story of a newlywed couple, Anne and Jack Peterson. One morning, they are unexpectedly visited by the FBI, and Jack is questioned about a murder that was committed seven years prior. What develops is the unraveling of Jack's past and the effect it has on everyone around him. Did he really commit the crime, or is he being framed? The film ultimately leaves the audience to answer one timeless question: Can people really change?
"I'm expecting that this leading role will re-invent Christy Bella as an actress," John W. Bosley stated. "When we're done, people will be pleasantly surprised, very impressed, and expect even greater performances from her in the future."
Bosley met Joiner through mutual connections on the social media website Twitter in late 2009. Joiner's interest in the film started when the director posted a demo video of the opening sequence that was initially reserved for possible investor viewing. During the creation of the video sequence, Bosley decided to post the process online and start building his online fan base for the film. The sequence was created by the talented VFX artist James R. Bosley and boasts the original music by the film's composer, Hans Karl.
Since Christy joined the cast, the film has been gaining more attention on the Internet and even with some famous actors from Hollywood," Bosley explained. "People are excited about seeing her perform in her first leading role. This dramatic role will make a bold statement about her acting abilities."
Originally from Maine, Bosley's scripted The House to be filmed in small-town Maine. But recently, with the addition of Joiner and the growing Georgian support, there has been talk about possibly shooting some or most of the film in Georgia.
"Christy has been telling me how supportive people in Georgia are of their own people,” Bosley stated. "Getting local people excited about a film is greater than tax incentives or anything else people can come up with, in my opinion."
Presently, Bosley is in discussions with various additional actors and is also planning on making a trip to meet with Joiner and explore the state for possible set locations. The House is slated for a Fall 2010 production date.
