James M. Connell, 73, of Bainbridge died Tuesday, May 11, 2010, at Select Specialty Hospital in Tallahassee, FL.

Funeral services were held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, May 14, at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jean Watson officiating. Interment followed at Oak City Cemetery.

Pallbearers were James Connell, Jr., George Marvis, David White, Ricky Wheeler, Joe Knight, Billy Murkerson, Mike Clinton, Michael Bowen and Johnny Hand.

James was born March 21, 1937, in Bainbridge, the son of Henry Grady Connell and Sarah Rucia Scott Connell. He worked for Miller Hydro Company for over 20 years, was the owner of C & J Enterprises and was of the Methodist faith. Mr. Connell was preceded in death by his daughter, Ginger Teresa Connell. Survivors include his wife, Cecilia Hodges Connell, Bainbridge; his sons, James (Lisa) Connell Jr. of Dothan, AL, Tommy (Tammy) Connell, Mickey (Lorie) Connell, Stevie Connell, Ricky Wheeler, Bainbridge; his daughter, Chris (Pat) Smith, Atlanta; his brothers, Scott (Eloise) Connell, Deese (Carolyn) Connell, Jack (Dana) Connell; 10 grandchildren; and one great-grandson.

Ivey Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
