Gasoline going up, Oil prices go down

“There’s oil in them thar waters.” With the oil pouring out into the Gulf of Mexico, you would think oil prices might go up, but oil prices dropped Monday, below $70.00 per barrel to $69.76.

Other area cities lowest to highest price were:

Albany $2.649-2.799
Blakely 2.789-2.859
Bainbridge 2.689-2.939
Colquitt 2.699-2.969
Cordele 2.689-2.809
Damascus 2.699-2.969
Dothan,AL 2.649-2.729
D’ville 2.539-2.599
Newton 2.719-2.719
Tallahassee 2.699-2.999

The lowest gas prices in the nation Monday was in Warner Robbins, GA with $2.339 and the highest was $4.099 per gallon.

It seems like regular gas varied within a 20 mile radius as much as 18 ¢ per gallon. The highest regular gas in that same are varied as much as 40¢ per gallon.

Gas prices for Memorial Day weekend usually jumps, but this year nationwide, the prognosticators are not predicting hikes.

No one knows what the prices will be from day to day or week to week. It seems that the best answer was as the station owner told a customer when asked why his gas was so much higher than in a neighboring town?

The merchant said, “I want more profit per gallon than they do in the next town.”
