Griner, Holt speak vows
Mr. and Mrs. David Griner
Ashley Suzanne Holt of Colquitt and David Austin Griner of Camilla were united in marriage on Saturday, April 10, 2010, at five o’clock in the afternoon at Colquitt Free Will Baptist Church. Reverend William Smith officiated.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Holt of Colquitt. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bobby Jones of Byron, Mr. and Mrs. Amos George and Mr. and Mrs. Jim Holt, all of Colquitt.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ivey William Griner of Camilla. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Pickett Condrey of Camilla and the late Mr. and Mrs. Dick Griner of Camilla.
The church was adorned with mixed flowers of pink roses, stargazer lilies, orange gerbera daisies and green hydrangeas, along with white tea light candles. Memorial candles burned in memory of the late Mr. and Mrs. Dick Griner, Kim Tully and Cleve Bostick.
Music was provided by Joye Bailey, pianist, and Kristan Houston and Craig Singletary, soloists.
The wedding ceremony was directed by Mrs. Melody Houston.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a strapless, ivory beaded lace mermaid gown with a chapel-length train by Oleg Cassini. Accenting her gown was a finger-tip ivory veil with lace and pearl trim.
The bride carried bouquets of mixed flowers including pink roses, stargazer lilies, orange gerbera daisies and green hydrangeas.
An heirloom handkerchief served as the bride’s something old. Her something new was her wedding dress. She borrowed her Aunt Melody Houston’s pearl, cluster earrings and wore her mother’s lace garter for her something blue.
Serving as matron of honor was sister of the bride, Amanda Holt Woodell of Thomasville. Bridesmaids were Hannah Holt Garney of Colquitt, Leann Griner Hurst of Pelham, Cassie Cox of Colquitt, Brooke Lanier Chance of Statesboro, Mia Howard Warbel of Panama City Beach, Florida, Kristin Young of Adel and Lauren Towns Owens of Dublin. Ava Grace Woodell, niece of the bride ,served as the flower girl.
The bridesmaids were dressed in floor length, clover green gowns made of chiffon and Charmeuse with high, rounded necklines and a satin sash at waist.
They carried bouquets consisting of orange gerbera daisies and pink roses, along with green berries.
Serving as best men for the groom were his father, Ivey William Griner Sr., and brother, Ivey William Griner Jr. of Camilla. Groomsmen were Tony Hurst of Pelham, Blake Lodge of Tifton, Joseph Rackley, Clay Powell, Daniel Morrell, Justin Williams, and Mac Jones, all of Camilla. Ring bearer was the bride’s nephew, Rylan Woodell.
The groom’s boutonnière consisted of a single white rose while the groomsmen’s boutonnieres consisted of a single pink rose.
Reception
A reception, hosted by the bride’s parents, followed at LAPD where guests danced to the music provided by DJ Rocky Duncan.
Rehearsal Dinner
The rehearsal dinner was hosted by the groom’s parents at Cotton Hall.
Parties
The bride and groom were honored in the months preceding the wedding with two Christmas showers, miscellaneous showers in Camilla and Colquitt, a Stock the Pantry Shower, a Stock the Bar Shower, a Lawn and Garden Shower, a Pampered Chef Shower, and a Barbecue Cookout. Both were thrown bachelor and bachelorette weekends by their bridal party. The bridesmaids’ brunch was held at the home of Mrs. Cindy Tully the morning of the wedding.
The bride is a graduate of Valdosta State University in Valdosta where she received her master’s of education degree in communication sciences and disorders. She is employed as a speech-language pathologist at Archbold Memorial Hospital in Thomasville.
The groom is a graduate of the University of Georgia where he received a bachelor of science degree in agricultural and environmental science. He is employed as a sales representative at Waters Agricultural Lab in Camilla.
After a honeymoon in Las Vegas, Nevada, the couple now reside in Camilla.
