Clark Bass and Jana Dowdy Mr. and Mrs. Ricky Dowdy of Leary announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Jana Lyn Dowdy, to Clark Lawson Bass, son of Clark and Teresa Bass of Leslie.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Doris Gaines and the late J.W. Gaines of Leary, and Doris Dowdy and the late W.T. Dowdy of Damascus.

Miss Dowdy is the 2006 graduate of Southwest Georgia Academy in Damascus. Currently she is pursuing a degree in nursing at Darton College in Albany where she will graduate in July.

The future groom is the grandson of Hud and Lois Hall of Cordele and Ray and Jeanette Bass of Leslie.

Mr. Bass was a member of the 2006 graduating class of Southland Academy in Americus. He is currently attending Georgia Southwestern University in Americus pursuing a business degree.

A beach wedding will be held August 28, 2010, at Indian Pass, FL.
