Bainbridge -A complaint to DFACS that there was meth use in a home around kids resulted in two arrests Wednesday afternoon.

Sheriff’s Captain Chip Nix told us that, after the complaint, they arrived at the 125 Black Jack Church Road home with DFACS to investigate.

With the remnants of a meth lab found outside the home, Ashleigh Jenson and Stevie Robinson were taken into custody and transported to the Sheriff’s Office.

A search warrant was issued and executed at about 7:30 p.m. In a search of the home, deputies found precursors to manufacturing meth as well as methamphetamine.

Ashleigh Danielle Jenson, 22, and Ronald Stephen Robinson, 33, were charged with manufacturing meth, possession of methamphetamine and pseudoephedrine and 3 counts of manufacturing meth in the presence of children.

Blakely - The 16th annual Early County Relay for Life activities were cut short Friday night due to the threat of severe weather.

Activities were cancelled after the luminary service after radar and weather reports indicated bad weather was approaching. The survivor walk and several activities, including a donut eating contest went on as planned before they decided to pack up

According to chairman Angela Jenkins, the event had raised $29,000 as of Friday night. There will be a final tally within a couple of weeks.

Bloun ts Blountsman is behind bars after authorities seized his computer and charged him his three counts of possessing child pornography.

David Smith, 42, was arrested Wednesday in the case that began back in November.

According to the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office, Inv. Michael Bryant and attorney general investigators Matthew Williams and Jeremiah Gile executed a search warrant on Smith’s Hayes subdivision residence on November 3, 2009. They seized a DVD and 16 assorted CDs, along with a computer. During the search, they also discovered some marijuana, rolling papers, a bag of seeds, scissors, a grinder, a pipe, and scales, leading to additional charges for possession of less than 20 grams of marijuana and paraphernalia.

An initial analysis of Smith’s personal computer revealed videos of suspected child pornography. Off-site forensic analysis was conducted on the computer. After the analysis was completed, three video files containing child pornography were located. Smith was subsequently arrested.

Pelham - The CNS cable building, located at 113 McLaughlin Street, was the site of a robbery on April 19.

According to police authorities, the robbery occurred around 10:45 with the sole female clerk on duty was savagely attacked by one of three robbers, wielding a 2 x 4 piece of lumber.

As the clerk fell to the floor, the robber continued to beat her while the other two proceeded to search the desk drawers, finding the bank bag, and, eventually, all three fled the scene on foot.

The woman’s injuries included a fractured collar bone and numerous bruises. However, she is expected to make a full recovery.

The resulting investigation led to the arrests of the following: Amartinez Cannon, 20; Paul Eldrick Moore, 18; and a 16-year-old juvenile.

After taking the trio into custody, the Pelham Police Department obtained a confession from each individual.

Cannon was charged with armed robbery, aggravated battery, and aggravated assault. Moore received the same three charges as well as wearing a mask during the commission of a crime. The juvenile received the same four charges as Moore.

At present the district attorney is seeking to move the juvenile’s charges to superior court, seeking to try him as an adult.
