Mrs. Clara L. Warren Toliver, 85, passed away Wednesday, April 21, 2010, at Miller County Hospital.

Mrs. Toliver was born on July 10, 1924, to the late Rosa Lee Warren Williams and the late Willis C. Williams. She joined New Salem Baptist Church. She attended Tabernacle Free Will Baptist Church School, a rural school of Miller County. She worked as a domestic house maid for the Brooks family and helped many Colquitt families raise their children.

Funeral services were held Monday, April 26, at 1:00 p.m. at New Salem Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. J.E. Arline officiating. Interment followed in Pleasant Hill Free Will Baptist Cemetery.

Survivors include a cousin which was raised as a sister, Ester Lee Perkins, Mildred Perkins, Eva Lou Johnson, Vire Doris Perkins, Louise Benton Gilmore, Willie Stevenson, Timothy Stevenson, Lamar Chuck Stevenson, Melanese Stevenson, Marshal Neal Russell, Karen Perkins, Larry James Walker, John Lester Butler, Clora Mae Perkins, Milton Perkins, a devoted friend, Sis. Katie Smith, Sis. Carrie Faison, a god-daughter, Annie Doris Bell and a host of cousins, relatives and friends both black and white.

Williams’ Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.
