Class of 1947 Reunion

The Miller County High School Class of 1947 celebrated its 63rd anniversary on April 17, 2010. The reunion began with a luncheon at Helen’s Restaurant. An arrangement of spring flowers was placed on the head table, donated by Lucy Bush Thomas. A memorial poster listing the names of deceased class members was placed on the registration table. Joy Tully welcomed class members and their guests.
The invocation was delivered by Lucy Bush Thomas. After the luncheon, Barbara Chambers Clearman directed a memorial service dedicated to the deceased class members. There are 27 known deaths of classmates at this time. W. H. Phillips was a special guest and provided the entertainment for the group.
Peggy Phillips King gave an update on members that were unable to attend this year’s reunion. Calvin Everett, class treasurer, gave the treasury report. Plans were made for the next year’s reunion. The reunion is to be held on the Mayhaw Festival weekend in April, 2011.
Joy and Joyce Tully will host the next reunion.
The group was dismissed with the singing of the Alma Mater.
The planning committee for this year’s reunion consists of Joy Tully, Barbara Chambers Clearman, Lucy Bush Thomas, Calvin Everett, and Peggy Phillips King.

Guests were W. H. Phillips and Waver Perry.
