Nelson and Shirley Hooper Nelson and Shirley Hooper celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a reception at the Holiday Inn South in Dothan, AL. The event was hosted by their children, Mark and Holly Jelks of Enterprise, AL, Hudson and Mona Hooper of Enterprise, AL, and Robert and Hope Snapp of Dothan, AL. Approximately 130 relatives and friends attended.

The couple met on a hayride sponsored by Memphis Baptist Church of Dothan, and was married March 17, 1960, by the grandfather of the bride, the Rev. H. L. Catrett of Colquitt, GA. The couple now resides in Henry County on Lake Eufaula.
