INCIDENT REPORTS

Shoplifting

On April 9, Diane Davelle Willard advised that she watched Bobby Taliaferro McCray try to hide some items on his person while he was in the store. Upon watching the surveillance video, McCray was observed taking a package of cologne off the shelf. McCray then took the cologne out of the package and put the package somewhere on another shelf. McCray then walked around the store and put the opened item on another shelf. McCray was arrested and transported to the Miller County Jail. McCray was advised that he was no longer allowed to go back onto Dollar General property. McCray was charged with shoplifting second offense.

No Insurance

On April 8, Andra Canidate was charged with no insurance and taken to jail.

Obstructing Police

On April 7, the Colquitt Police Department received a call from the Ron-Cam stating that D errick L Baker was there again and was still intoxicated and bothering people. Upon arrival, the owner pointed up the road, and Officer Stone saw the offender walking up the road. While driving up to Baker, he noticed him staggering badly in the middle of the southbound lane, and his pants were falling off. The officer stopped his vehicle and made contact with Baker who was obviously intoxicated. Officer Stone then placed Baker under arrest for Public Drunk and handcuffed him. As soon as Officer Stone did this, Baker became combative and began cursing. Baker was taken to the Sheriff’s Office and booked on the before mentioned charges. The obstruction charge stems from an incident at the Sheriff’s Office.

Damage to Property

On April 6, John Hayes advised that someone had hit his mailbox, almost knocking it off of the post. Upon investigation, Officer Medina found an empty beer can that appeared as if it had been thrown up against the mailbox while it was full causing the can to burst at one end.
