Mrs. Sarah Rucia Scott Connell, age 92, of Bainbridge passed away Friday, April 9, 2010, at Bainbridge Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services were held Monday, April 12, at 2:00 p.m. at Bainbridge Church of God with Rev. Perry Lamey, Rev. Dan Tomberlin and Rev. Robert Varnadoe officiating. Interment followed at Calvary Assembly of God Cemetery.

Pallbearers were James M. Connell, Jr., Jack Roy Connell, Jr., Henry Connell, Brent Connell, Austin Trawick and Reggie Trawick. Honorary pallbearers were Randy Connell, Mickey Connell, Tommy Connell, Stevie Connell and Chris Gatlin.

Mrs. Connell was born in Decatur County February 5, 1918, the daughter of the late Marvin and Sarah Deese Scott. She was the oldest member of the Bainbridge Church of God. She attended Brinson School and later married Henry Grady Connell May 23, 1936. She loved her family and church and enjoyed cooking.

She is survived by four sons James M. (Ceil) Connell, Sr., Scott (Elouise) Connell, Jack (Dana) Connell, Bainbridge, Deese (Carolyn) Connell, Chattahoochee, FL; 14 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and three greatgreat grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one sister, Nettie Baxley, and two brothers, C.M. Scott and William H. Scott.

Cox-Ware Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
