Last Tuesday, April 6, Secretary of State candidate, Gary Horlacher made his stop in Miller County as part of his 159-county “Listening and Learning” tour as he visits each county in the state to hear what is really important to all Georgians.

Horlacher takes the campaign trail with over 30 years of campaigning at every level, and 31 sessions under the Gold Dome. He has as much political and governmental experience as virtually any name on the 2010 ballot. He has managed statewide campaigns for Labor Commissioner and Lieutenant Governor, served as press secretary for Governor Roy Barnes, worked in the U.S. Senate, state legislative and congressional campaigns, volunteered as campaign advisor to Atlanta Mayor Shirley Franklin, and served as assistant commissioner of the Georgia Department of Labor, executive director of the Georgia Association of Home Health Agencies, and legal aide to the House Judiciary Committee. Additionally, he has spent his last nine years of legal practice focusing on election law, ethics compliance, and regulatory matters involving state licensing boards. In short, he knows how the “political game” is played and how government operates under the Dome.

Horlacher says his top priorities are to remove the partisan shenanigans that have infected this office over the last four years; to succeed by instituting a verifiable paper trail for Georgia’s electronic voting system; allow Saturday voting in the early voting process; establish a uniform database collections system which will ensure that all 159 counties are working from the same playbook; maintain much more vigilant oversight of absentee ballots; and do all this in an honest, open and accountable way to all the citizens of Georgia. Our absolute top priority must be “High Definition Government.”

“Georgia, it is up to us to unite! You wanna fight the power under the Gold Dome? You need the power to fight” says Horlacher. To learn more about Gary, go to www.garyforsecretary. com.
