Up The Creek Without A Paddle

A few pieces of silver for your soul?
by Terry Toole

This past Sunday was Palm Sunday when our Lord road a donkey into Jerusalem with the people praising him as the Christ, the Son of the Living God.

After three years of preaching and showing us how we should live, it seemed that everything was going to get better, but He knew what was coming.

The leaders of that day were afraid that Jesus was getting too popular, and there is always a Judas who will sell his soul to the devil for a few pieces of silver, or even less.

There are always a bunch of "leaders" who are afraid of someone getting too much power, or being too popular to the people. We the people are getting a good dose of just how far "leaders" will go to keep the people in check. We have seen that there are no limits to what a group of "leaders" will do to hold their spot or power.

There are always some who will have the 30 pieces of silver to entice a politician or “leader.”

If the crooks can't get a law passed, they will go behind closed doors and come out with something that no one has any idea what has been passed. Those giving out the special deals promise that the taxpayers won't have to pay for killing babies, deals that some states will not be under the law, along with the president, the congress and a few more who do what they are told for their "30 pieces of silver."

No one in their right mind would ruin the lives of people who have worked for what they have to redistribute their wealth to those who do not, or will not, work.

No one with any common sense or patriotism would take away the freedoms from a people living in the greatest nation on earth for money.

No sensible human beings would allow a government to kill babies in the womb and make the working people pay for the killings.

After being here for almost three quarters of a century, I have seen things that none of us would have believed possible.

We have "things" now that we don't see how we ever did without. I see children and grown-ups who fuss about how our clothes are worn and our foods are prepared when most of the people of this earth have no clothes to wear or food to eat. I can see that history can, and does repeat itself.

As long as we were under “In God We Trust,” we were the most blessed nation on this earth with food, clothing, homes, jobs and people to take care of us. We have allowed a corrupt few to "change" that for a few pieces of silver.

We were blessed above all people with what no other people ever had, and we were sold out by an evil and morally depraved group that some of you helped put in power.

We were never promised a rose garden, but we had it, almost. Now we will see that even with the beautiful roses, there are thorns. Another had thorns pushed into His head.

Unless we wake up, and change our wicked ways, we could well be on the road to destruction.

Most of us still don't understand why God allowed His only Son to go through what He did for sinners like us, but He did. He must love us a lot, and there is nothing we can do to deserve it, except maybe love Him back, and ask for forgiveness for our sins.

Back over 2000 years ago, the Creator of us all came to earth in the form of a man. Many of the people back then accepted Him as the Christ, the Messiah, the Son of God. Some of the people worshiped Him, but a few of the “leaders” of that day bought the souls of a few and hung Christ Jesus on a cross after almost beating him to death. He died, and after three days, arose on Easter morning to go and prepare those who worship Him a place.

If we will study our Bible, we can read what has been, is now and is to come. We know the end of the story.

Anyone want to end like Judas Iscariot? The silver is being passed out, again.

Then came Easter, when God looked at us through the eyes of Christ. That's why we are still here. We can't do anything to deserve what we get, but only by the amazing grace of God.

He Arose!
