Mildred Johnson Moore, 88, of Columbus died Saturday, March 20, 2010, at Doctors Hospital.

Funeral services were held at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, March 25, at McMullen Funeral Home Chapel in Columbus with Mr. Tommy Mayton officiating. Interment followed at Parkhill Cemetery.

Mrs. Moore was born September 22, 1921, in Miller County, daughter of the late F. M. “Boss” Johnson and Girtha Baker Johnson. She was retired from the Muscogee County School District as a first grade teacher where she taught her students English. She was a member of Epworth United Methodist Church, Gala Quilting Guild and the Muscogee Education Association. Mrs. Moore was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Carlton Moore.

Survivors include her daughter, Olivia Ann “Libby” Turpie and husband, Stephen, of Plano, TX; sons, Randy Johnson Moore and wife, Nan of Merritt Island, FL, and Troy Marion “Marty” Moore of Columbus; grandchildren, Crystal Henderson, Summer Cunningham, Daniel Henderson, Pierce Moore, Troy Moore, Marissa Moore and Brianna Moore; and great-grandchildren, Ariel Earls, Whitney Cunningham, Carly Henderson, and Kate Henderson.

McMullen Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
