Jason McLeod to be guest speaker at ‘Men of Jesus’
Jason McLeod plays the role of Brock Kelley in the hit movie, Facing the Giants.
Albany’s Jason McLeod, who starred in Facing the
Giants
and Fireproof
will be the guest speaker at the April 8 meeting of the “Men of Jesus.”
The program is open to the public and will be held at Moby Dick.
When Albany’s Sherwood Baptist Church decided to make the movie Facing the Giants, McLeod landed the role of Brock Kelley. Better known as “the kid who did the death crawl,” Jason shares a testimony of how his life was parallel to that of his character, Brock. God used the movie in Jason’s life to show him how he was living a life of mediocrity as a teenager.
After the movie was produced, Jason went on to Georgia Southern University where he played for the Georgia Southern Eagles’ football team for two years.
Right before the release of the movie, God called Jason to step away from football to pursue the ministry. Jason had no idea how the Lord was about to catapult that ministry with the release of Facing the Giants which would go on to be released all over the United States and in 56 other countries.
Jason has a unique gift of connecting with audiences of all ages due to his energy and excitement for the Lord! He hopes to connect people to a real and authentic relationship with Jesus Christ.
Jason grew up in Albany where he lives currently and works for the family’s agribusiness during the week. He is the son of Andy and Wendy McLeod and has two siblings; Ben, 21, who attends Full Sail University in Orlando, FL, and a sister, Emilee, 16, who is a junior in high school. Jason’s family has been active members of Sherwood Baptist Church since 1990.
Jason also had the opportunity to participate in Sherwood’s third feature film, Fireproof, in which he took on the role of rookie fireman, Eric Harmon.
Jason is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Buren Whitaker of Colquitt.
