Two injured in head-on collision

Miller County EMT and Fire, rescue, and Colquitt police were dispatched to the scene.

The crash happened when Christopher D. Mock, was driving his 2004 Dodge Ram pickup north on MLK Jr. St. and Alan Ray Heard was driving his 1997 Ford pickup south on the same street.

The report indicated that Mock was attempting to turn left into his driveway at 843 N. MLK Jr. St. and Heard’s vehicle struck Mock’s truck causing major damage to both vehicles.

Mock was taken to the ER by ambulance. Heard went by private vehicle.

Mock was cited for failing to yield and no license.

Both vehicles were removed from the scene by wreckers.

The contributing factors causing the crash were listed as improper turn, failed to yield and misjudged clearance according to investigating officer, Lonnie Wade of Colquitt Police Department.
