Large crowd attends Captain’s Cup ribbion cutting Large crowd attends Captain’s Cup ribbion cutting The ribbon cutting and open house for the new owners of the Captains Cup were held Friday, March 12. The event started with the Chamber of Commerce chairman, Martiele Pickle, welcoming owners, Thad Richardson and Danielle Holt. She thanked everyone for coming out to show their support. Mayor Jerry Chapman offered congratulations on the purchase of the established business. Howard Small and Clyde Jinks wished the new owners well in their endeavors.

Thad and his daughter, Danielle, are excited to be a part of the Colquitt business community. Both are no strangers to the restaurant business working with Thad’s parents, Gordon and Patsy Richardson at the Steerhole Restaurant.

Thad is a lifelong resident of Miller County. He is married to Kim ,and they have three other children, Macey, Justin, and Adam, all of whom help out at the new business.

Danielle is the oldest of the children and is married to Tyler Holt. They have one daughter, Ava Klaire, who is about to celebrate her first birthday. The Captains Cup, located on the square at 112 West Main Street, offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Breakfast items include muffins, scones, and quiche as well as gourmet coffee, cappuccinos, and lattes. Wraps and sandwiches are their specialty for lunch and dinner. You can also enjoy Dr. Smoothies, 20 Below, and Blue Bell ice cream and milk shakes. Business hours are Monday – Friday 7:30 a.m. till 7:30 p.m. and Saturday 7:30 a.m. till 2:00 p.m.

There were many family, friends and representatives of other businesses that attended. After the ceremony, samples of the menu were enjoyed by all.

Thad and Danielle would like to express their appreciation to all who attended. A special thank you goes to the Chamber of Commerce for coordinating the event.
