Ugandan Thunder in concert
Hill Moore, center, introduced this group of 13 singing African children and their founder, Dr. Ted Moody, right; to the seniors at Colquitt Alternative Care.
Monday evening, the residents at the Colquitt Alternative Care were entertained by a group of 13 African children from Royal School & Orphanage in Mityana, Uganda.
Hill Moore called to see if we could come to the concert that was going on at the Colquitt Alternative Center on March 15.
After a productive and enjoyable concert from the Ugandan Thunder young people, Dr. Moody asked what they liked most about America. The most common answer from the children was fried chicken. Dr. Moody told the residents that the children may get fried chicken once a year in Africa. Another answer was that everyone in America is rich.
Dr. Ted Moody is a pastor, author, and gifted speaker. He is lovingly known as "Big Daddy" to the children of Africa. Ted and his wife Elaine live in Zebulon, Georgia, and are the parents of Meredith Maddox and Michael Moody. They are blessed with three exceptional grandchildren, Jake, Mikayla, and Michael Ted III.
It was during Ted's first mission trip to Africa that Pastor Bernard Monday from Bugiri, Uganda, looked at him and humbly said, "The children in our school and orphanage are hungry. Could you help us?" Ted's life has never been the same since that day. Ted's consuming passion has become feeding these hungry children.
Ugandan Thunder tours raise money for the Pennies For Posho feeding program. Pennies For Posho is a non-profit organization that is committed to helping feed the hungry and starving children of Africa as we obey James 1:27. “Take care of orphans... in their distress.”
The group, Ugandan Thunder, is sponsored by Pennies for Posho, a nonprofit Christian organization that is committed to feed the hungry children of Africa. All funds raise from the love offering that will be received at the concert will be used for this expressed purpose.
