Braxton Jackson is 2010 Caldwell Fellow.
Braxton Jackson has been awarded the Caldwell Fellowship at North Carolina State University.
Braxton is a freshmen at NC State and graduated with honors from White Oak High School in Jacksonville, NC. He is currently on the Deans List at NC State and is ranked #1 in his class. In addition to the many other scholarships Braxton received, the Caldwell Fellows are chosen based on their academic accomplishments, leadership skills, community service and more importantly their future contributions. They are expected to maintain a GPA of 3.25 or higher, exemplify servant-leadership and critical thinking and participate in experiential activities that expand the recipient’s self-awareness and potential.
Braxton has the opportunity as a Caldwell Fellow to study abroad, go on internships, participate in the Wilderness Experience where they enhance leadership, promote team building and draw out personal strengths. Many Caldwell Fellows choose the summer study program at Oxford University and have worked at medical centers in Ecuador, the Centers for Disease Control in Atlanta and even the David Letterman Show in New York. The premise of the fellowship is to give students a more global perspective about life so they can use their God-given potential to make a difference in the world they live in.
Braxton Jackson is the son of Wayne and Andrea Sheffield- Jackson (MCHS ’87) and grandson of Ann Sheffield, and the late Felix Sheffield of Colquitt, and Jackie Jackson of Damascus.
